“Through Trent’s unmistakable art, we want to encourage families, educate communities, and inspire everyone. We also want to give Trent an outlet for his talent, a voice in the world, and a brighter future.”

-Trent’s Dad & Mom

Confession: I get easily distracted by videos on Facebook and YouTube. I start scrolling and suddenly 30 minutes are gone. My feed is mostly dogs, sports, and comedians. But occasionally something new grabs my attention.

That’s what happened when I came across Drawings byTrent.

Trent Landreth is an amazing artist. He was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2 and has limited speech abilities. Trent loves to draw animals. His fans send him suggestions and they post videos of his creations. Within seconds he might draw a dog eating a birthday cake, frogs hugging, or a turtle taking a shower.

What I love about this story is how Trent’s family has helped him find ways to use his natural gifts to make the world a better place.

His parents have turned his art into a family business where Trent is the star. They have an online store where his drawings have become books, greeting cards, t-shirts, and more.

Trent’s work is more than drawing pictures.

His work is helping other families navigate a world where many with special needs struggle to find ways to use their unique talents in meaningful ways.

I’ve followed Trent for a long time and was excited when one of his videos announced he was coming to Omaha.  He’d be at a local coffee shop for a few hours to meet his fans and autograph his books. I sat at a table for over an hour just watching families come, some from over 2 hours away, to experience a different path forward. Trent’s dad and brother-in-law were gracious enough to talk to me about building the business and working with Trent.

If you follow me, you know that I believe that the greatest leaders bring out the best in the people around them.

Trent’s family exemplifies this work. They’ve been able to support Trent by seeing beyond any societal limitations and helping him use his talents to make the world a better place.

Every. Single. Person has something meaningful to contribute to this world.

What gifts are you sharing with those around you?
