Hi! I’m Janelle.
I know how you feel. I remember what it was like to be in a job where I was respected and well-paid and still feel like there was more. More of my strengths I wanted to be using. More ways I wanted to work in the world. But I was too distracted by the daily details to explore and understand this “elusive more.” It was only when I was able to step back and gain perspective, that I found my true path.
I grew up on a farm in Minnesota. My love for animals led to a career as a veterinarian and eventually a vast array of experiences including co-starting agricultural businesses and consulting with several companies in the United States and abroad.
Even though I loved the people I worked with and the businesses I helped create, something wasn’t quite right about how I was using my time.
After much reflection, I recognized the driving force behind all the different roads my career had taken was my ability to problem solve and sense when things were out of alignment.
I have always loved puzzles. We typically have a jigsaw puzzle set up in our family room during the winter months. I like finding the next piece that fits. Sometimes it is obvious what goes next. And sometimes it is a surprise how the pieces align.
My true gift is alignment.
I am a strategy coach and consultant because I can sense alignment. I help business owners, executives, and professionals figure out how the pieces of their business fit together.
I sense when you’re leading your life and company in a direction that isn’t authentic to who you are or how you want to be doing business.
I discern when you are tripping yourself up because of a fear of failure or disappointing others.
Once we uncover what you want, I help you determine and align the steps to reach your vision of success.
It takes courage to lead authentically. It means you have a unique perspective on how you approach the world. Your skills need to be melded into the way you do business for your work to hold joy and meaning to you. I would love to help guide you there.
My favorite poem is by William Stafford.
The Way It Is
There’s a thread you follow. It goes among
things that change. But it doesn’t change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
But it is hard for others to see.
While you hold it you can’t get lost.
Tragedies happen; people get hurt
or die; and you suffer and get old.
Nothing you do can stop time’s unfolding.
You don’t ever let go of the thread.
I cannot define your thread for you. I can sense when you are courageously following it. I know it can be hard as I follow mine every day. Will you have the courage to follow your thread? I would be honored to help you on your journey towards the thread that holds meaning for you.
